Located in South Central Asia, India is a country almost three times smaller than Brazil in extension but has a population almost six times higher! In May 2000 the baby was born, raising the Indian population to one billion, occupying the temporary position as the second most populous country in the world, as predictions indicate that in the next century it will exceed China's population if they are not intensified Efforts to control their demographic growth with more efficient programs of awareness and clarification among the most needy population, where families generally have more children. India will thus become the most ethnically and socially divided country in the world with its more than 3,000 different tribes, castes and sub-caste groups. Nowadays, India goes down in history, attracting thousands of tourists from all over the world, who daily mobilize there, fascinated by everything that is part of their civilization, unequaled on planet Earth. The great challenge of the present continues to be the raising of their standard of living.

Missions in India

India is among the countries most in need of preaching the gospel, given the sheer number of people who have not yet had the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus. According to the latest available statistics, India has 82% Hindus, 11% Muslims and 2.6% Christians. In this number, 2.6% include Catholics, members of the Mar Toma Church and other pseudo Christians such as Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons. The religious tolerance advocated by Hinduism, in a certain way, facilitates the evangelization of Hindus, who readily accept Jesus, for He represents only one more god in his 33 million goddess pantheon. What becomes arduous in our task is to lead them to the realization that Jesus Christ is the only true God! And this work demands time, wisdom, anointing, patience and much love!
